I live on the coast at the bottom of the South Island in New Zealand and the the deep here is FREEZING nearly all of the time.
Why is it that children can button swimming in it but at hand is no way I (or any other adults I know), could bring back myself past foot deep within that water right immediately? Is their a physiological reason why, or is it a moment ago as cold to them but they dont care as much because they are have fun?
I loved swimming in the the deep at the same oceans my 5 year hoary does, when I was a kid, but as much as I want to unify him there is NO WAY I can in a minute!
Just one of the those things I've always wondered :-)Why are children competent to knob swimming/playing surrounded by really cold sea?
It's probably a combination of their mind not individual aware of water temp because they're busy have fun, their high metabolism keeping their bodies thaw out, and kids just seem to be to be more resilient than adults in abundant situations.
its psychological...you just hold to jump contained by before you can deduce about it. if you cogitate about it after you won't want to. kids are so excited about have fun that they don't even think nearly it being cold.
Probably they are have too much fun to notice how cold it is. I remember when I be a kid I always needed to go play contained by the ocean when our family connections would go to the coast (living surrounded by the Pacific Northwest U.S.). My parents would never let me because even surrounded by the middle of summer it would get around 65 degrees for the lofty.
one reason is that they own very alive metabolisms that can keep their body warmth high better than an fully fledged, so they keep themselves thaw better.
it will make them a great deal hungrier afterwards compared to swimming in furnace water.
